PRILIMINARY WORK; video analysation.

LADY GAGA. PAPARAZZI.

Performance Video/Narrative.
Gaga’s video tells two stories within her narrative.

1) The struggle for a relationship based on love not fame.
2) Hardships of living with your life in the media.

Through the struggle, Gaga shows her strength in the video by using elements of storyline combined with strong female sex appeal. She shows this in various complex dance routines. Within the narrative, she is shown recovering from her fall in a wheelchair, proving her determination to be well again. The use of dance promotes a positive image of Gaga, showing that she is a talented and capable individual, who strives to promote appealing songs mixed with an abstract quality.

Gaga promotes herself through the male glare. She using her body to capture the attention of most males everywhere. Gaga also has a scene involving several other females, to promote that "she doesn't need a man." However, she incorporates the males idealistic view of “two women.”

The narrative constantly shows how Gaga changes, from firstly being in love, in which the video shows a close up of her lips, outlined with a dark red lipstick – signifying love, lust and passion. The end of the video shows a close up of Gaga with black lipstick on, signifying her want for revenge as she poisons her boyfriend. She promotes herself as a strong female.
